About Sabina Couture

Sabina Couture was established in 2000 in New York City by Sabina W.

Sabina was born in Bosnia and Hercegovina, and from a very early age she had a strong desire to create. She got her first oil paints when she was five and immediately fell in love with painting. This led to many solo and group exhibitions in the young artist’s hometown.

As a young girl, Sabina also had another passion; the love of fashion. Trained by her two aunts, who were fashion designers, Sabina got early exposure to all aspects of clothing design. This allowed her to start creating her own clothes as a teenager.

When Sabina was twenty she moved to The United States. After graduating from Pacific Fashion Institute in San Francisco, Sabina started her own company designing wedding dresses. Working directly with her clients, Sabina was able to create truly unique couture gowns.

Sabina soon found, however, that her costumers were having difficulty finding headpieces that would complement the unique qualities and exquisite craftsmanship of their gowns. They began to ask her if she could make something for their hair as well. She began designing hair jewelry for some of her clients, creating distinctive work that appealed to the modern, elegant woman. The
response was overwhelming. In no time, she had references coming to her from other brides and hair stylists who were all thrilled with her fresh new approach to bridal hair jewelry. Thus began Sabina Couture.
